Xacuti, xiaolongbao, ximenia, xoconostle and xpinec are just some of the foods that begin with the letter "X." Because so few words brainstorm with the letter "X" in English language, all of these foods come from countries outside the United States.

Xacuti

This dark-brown curry comes from the hamlet of Arambol in the Indian region of Goa and is usually made with chicken or seafood. Xacuti is often served with rice, bread or fifty-fifty over an omelet. It can vary in spiciness. Ingredients include pepper, onion, white poppy seeds, fresh and stale chilies, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and other spices.

X iao Long Bao

A small (xiao) handbasket (long) bun (bao) is a steamed dumpling filled with goop and pork. Originally from Shanghai, Red china, xiao long baos can at present sometimes be found in American Chinese restaurants in large cities like Chicago.

X nipec

The name of this peppery salsa comes from the Mayan words for "dog's nose" or "domestic dog's snout," probably because the rut of it will brand your nose run wet like a canis familiaris's. Xnipec is originally from the Yucatan Peninsula, the southeastern part of Mexico where Mayans still live today, only it has since made its manner due north of the border.

The spiciness of this salsa comes from habanero peppers, and so be careful when preparing and eating xnipec.

X onocostle

Similar Ximenia, Xonocostle is a fruit. It comes from a cactus that goes by the same name and grows in Key Mexico. It's used in marinades, salsas, mole de olla and even beverages. Sometimes it's besides stale or candied before existence eaten.

The cactus itself is pale light-green, while the fruit is deep red and grows at the end of paddle-shaped growths. The gustatory modality of xonocostle is sour and acidic.
